New Appointed Ambassador Liu Xiaoming Strengthens UK and China Relationship03 March, 2010 (London) Liu Xiaoming, the new ambassador to the UK, was welcomed by British Foreign Secretary David Miliband's envoy as well as by officials from the Chinese embassy in London on Sunday.
Liu said he looked forward to strengthening cooperation with the UK and further developing the Sino-UK relationship, he said that currently the overall China-UK relations are in sound development and both sides are willing to further strengthen dialogue and communication and deepen strategic cooperation. The 54-year-old Liu had served as the ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for three and a half years, also served in the Chinese embassies in the U.S. and Egypt before assuming his duties in London. Ambassador Liu Xiaoming Biography Liu Xiaoming, male, Han nationality, was born in 1956 in Guangdong Province, and graduated from Dalian University of Foreign Languages in 1974.
